Levels for Mob Hunts

Hi.

We have reached the Phon Coast, and now Old Archades. I have accepted the hunts at the camp and completed a handful overall so far. [These include Ixtab, Enkelados, Rogue Tomato, Flowering Cactoid, Wyvern Lord and probably some others I can't remember.]

We have yet to defeat the Gil Snapper, Trickster, Croakadile and any of the higher-ranked marks. I remember that we beat the Gil Snapper at about level 35 or so the last time but I am not sure. The Vorpal Bunny ran off, and I don't know how we did it before.

Here's my question: Before we move on to the Rank III hunts, should our characters be above level 40?

Any help would be appreciated!

I just get to the end of the game then I fight all the hunts.
Lv 40 should get you to Gilgamesh if you have the correct equipment.

And yeah Bustamo maybe you should move general discussion to the top of the main sequels
