Go into the crater and walk around until you fight a Master Tonberry (a mole creature with a rotating yellow star above its head.) Attack him a few times and then morph him. He will turn into a Ribbon.
You can also find one at the Geas Cliffs. In the first cave after wrapping around to the bridge overlooking the door that was used to enter, walk straight to enter a cave with a box. Open it to find a ribbon.

and, the earliest place to get a Ribbon is in the Temple of the ancients near the end of disk 1, i *think* that its in one of the rooms off the giant floor/clock thingie.

Easy way of getting as much Ribbon as you want from Master Tonberry is by equipping Yuffie with her ultimate weapon Conformer together with a Morph materia. Of all the characters' ultimate weapons, Yuffie's Conformer deals the greatest damage with morph. So just keep morphing away until you acquire the accessory.
