Black Orbs
I am at the end of FFXII and I'm going back trying to beat the game 100% so I have to fight all of the marks. I am going to the Seer (hunt 44 god or devil) and I have to get to the bottom of the Pharos so I need Black Orbs but the monsters wont drop them. How do I get Black Orbs?

Okay, I've gone around the entire 1st Ascent more than 7 times but I'll keep trying. The first time I came in their were certain monsters that dropped (a few specific monsters) but those specific monsters don't drop them anymore. I sold 8 because they were left over and I didn't think I'd need them. That might be why. Maybe they won't drop them and I can't get to fight Yiazmat (that'd better not be true I wanna fight him badly).

Alright then, here's a tip I found from a member in another forum:

Thanks I needed that although those monsters don't drop any either... Or maybe they just float off really really fast?

Maybe, you'll have to keep a good eye out for it. If it floats away, follow it, and I believe it'll come in contact with the Massive Black Orb then.
Good luck! I know it also took me quite awhile to collect those stupid orbs. =/

Well thanks for the help. I just realized that I can go through a door in those stupid rooms... I almost got killed by the friggin Bunes!! I fought those when I was lvl 58??

Your lv isn't bad. Maybe it's your equipment? You do realize the black orbs don't come from loot bags right?
A black orb actually appears in mid-air.

Yea it was because I was fighting in the interior and apparently only the monsters in the hidden areas drop black orbs. Also you have to get 24 black orbs to pass F1 First Ascent... I've beaten the entire game except for Yiazmat and Hell Wyrm now...
