can you tell me what suits each character like what fighter r they magic / fighter
Cloud is he a fighter
vincent?
yuffie dont trust her with materia so fighter?
tifa fighter
Barret fighter?
red(nanaki) ?

Basically, this is a true RPG. Meaning, each member can be specialized in something. Here's the only restrictions of each character:

Cloud: Sword, Short-Range
Tifa: Fists, Short-Range
Barret: Gun-arm, Long-Range
Nanaki: Hair Ornament, Short-Range
Aerith: Rod, Short-Range
Cait Sith: M-Phone, Short-Range
Cid: Spear, Short-Range
Yuffie: Shuriken, Long-Range
Vincent: Rifle, Longe-Range

Personally, it's good to have the Long Range Materia, so you can hit anything at any distance, even out of reach ones. Other than that, the statistically best party is:

Cloud: Duh, main character
Vincent: Long-Range, very efficient Limits.
Aerith: Healing, Mage-type character. But, unfortunately, can't use her throughout the game. So go with either:

Tifa: Limits build up.
or
Yuffie: Conformer is very powerful, and can be useful with Morph.

Conformer is Yuffie's Ultimate Weapon. You find it on the Sunken Gelnika.

I never stick with the same party, I'm always mixing around (usually when a character has learned a limit break) to keep it fresher.

I go with Tifa and Barret. Since they were at the start, they'll end up as the most levelled up. There are a few times when you'll need to split your party so I suggest that you just get everyone up to par

Basically any character can be used for what ever you want in this game since my party was
Cloud
Barret
Cid

and i was using cloud as a well rounded warrior
Cid as a mage
barret as a summoner and red mage
So depending on how you build them thats the use you get

my main party was
Cloud (obviously). used him as both physical/magic
next I used Cid. he was all around melee/physical damage
lastly I used Nanaki(Red XIII) he was a summoner

ok thanks every one ut i've got my party but thanks for the ideas im gonna use cloud as warrior/magic thing and when i get them vincent and yuffie but until then iwill use Barret and Tifa



Hehehehe im not going to train yuffie to level 50 odd im going to (do not read under black unless yu need to) train my strongest cloud to level 50 odd so when i get yuffie she will b level 50 odd im smart
