EDIT: alright, alright, I'll try to actually be of some help...I'm currently playing through the DS version, myself, but I played through the original a couple years ago or so...If I recall correctly, what you're looking for is to the east of the Dark Knight village place, which, if my calculations are correct is where the west-most red arrows are on that map. Look! It looks like it's right next to a lake too! If I'm wrong, sue me...I guess...

Well, you do have the Invincible and the canoe at your disposal, correct? You'll need both. Lake Dohr should be in the western side of the map near the middle of the continent. The airship should be able to jump over a thin ranges of mountains, land your airship next to the lake, and then use your canoe to go to the center of the lake.
