Ok, so I'm playing FFIX and I want to train my characters by beating Yans, but they're just too powerful and they wipe me out everytime I try to fight them. So is there any strategy you used to beating them? Recommended levels, equipped abilities? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i started training agains them at level 70 with everyones best weapons i still found it hard to defeat and often got game over, it was snort that really annoyed me always hits me then your left with to or sometimes one, best idea is to learn auto hast for everyone so that you can get more attacks in

The Yans aren't that strong. They use Comet quite fluently, but if you've got Steiner hitting for a fair few thousand per attack (ideally I'd recommend the use of Climhazzard here, for high party-wide damage), you should be fine. Equip Auto-Life, and/or have Quina cast this spell in order to survive any damage high enough to knock you out.

Although they offer very good EXP, you're better off avoiding these critters until you're a reasonable way through Memoria, so you could be at the very least around lvl 55+. Iron Giants and Stilvas are far better monsters to fight if you're having difficulty.

Also, if you haven't already, utilise Hades' mad synthesis skills and get yourself some good equipment!
