I don't think it's possible to kill him. o,.,o
Just run away every time you immobilize him and you'll be alright in that escape part. Nothing much you can do but summon Quezacotl 10 times a battle or just keep hacking at him until he goes down.

It is possible. It is weak against Thunder attacks to be sure to have 2 party members continuously casting Thunder as the other one repeatedly summons Quetzacotl. you have to Deplete its HP before it can repair itself. you don't technically "beat it" but you get the 50 AP bonus each time.

Yup, it is possible to defeat him...
The only place he can be killed is on the bridge heading back into town, just after you complete the Radio Tower mission. My best advice is to level Quezacolt as high as you can. Also, it helps to have Quezacolt junctioned with someone who has the best compatibility with him for faster summons time and stock up as much as thunder magic as you can before you start the Dolet mission.
Anyway, once your fighting him on the bridge, constantly hit him with lightning and summons Quezacolt as much as you can. If you're luck, you'll beat him before the timer reaches zero.

Yep you can beat him, but you need to level up alot and use alot of thunder attacks.

Why was this moved to the help thread? It isnt hard, just level up 1st. But I guess, thats why they gave 3 different out comes in the game. You can beat him, though it doesnt matter, nothing special happens. You can hide in the pub/hotel (forgot), you go back to the beach and its already been killed by Quistis. Or you can do what every one else does and run. Rewarded by the badass scene of Quistis rocking it to death with a machine gun.

here is a way to do it (Bridge only)
have Selphie junction Quezacotl
Have both squall and zell at a reasonable yellow state (HP)
Have Zell fire off My Final Heaven (YES HE CAN do it just punch in the combination)
and Have Squall with a strong thunder magic junction to element attack and launch renzokuken at it
