Chosing a quickening & may have sold important item
Okay, all my characters are close to learning their quickenings and I was wondering which one to go with.
Vaan - Red Spiral
Balhier - Fires of War
Fran - Feral Strike
Basch - Fulminating Darkness
Ashe - Northswains Glow
Penelo - Evanscence
Also, I may have sold a Great Serpentskin I got from deafeating the Marauder. I think it was placed in my loot section and I quickly sold all my loot off after deafeating it and I think the skin was in there ... Stupid place to put it really.
If I have sold it on, does this mean I cant do the sidequest that comes with it? The Dalmascan Patient its called.

I assume that you're balancing out your characters (i.e. using all six of them)?
So it's up to you which Quickening you learn first. None is better than another really, as the damage is dependant on factors regarding enemy stats (I think).
I can't help on the other matter though. I can't even remember what the Marauder was.

Quickening don't really matter since they lose their touch by the time you beat demon walls
And you get serpent skin from maralis i think and it doesn't matter really since all it does is give you a golden amulet if you give it to dantros wife in the estersand
it is not a vital item anyway

Chosing a Quickening does not matter much. They all are about equal in damage, especially when your characters are all the same level. I normally got mine by which character I liked most. lol.

It says your suppose to need the great serpent skin for another quest later on. Something about the goofy cactoid quest. You don't need it. You have to heal some random guy but he heals fine without it and unlocks the entrance to the mines so you can re-enter and obtain some summon.

No matter what, the characters always end up with the same three quickenings (providing you learn three) so, if you're worried about Quickenings being stronger than others, don't be. I'd advise you to only acquire Quickenings for characters you actually use, because they take longer to get to on the Licence board later in the game.
The Great Serpentskin only helps you get a better item out of that sidequest. It's nothing magnificent.
