Fort condor/quests question
I'm playing FF7 for the first time in a few years (I never beat it) and I'm trying to do all the side quests. I did the fort condor quest once but I don't think I completed it. When I go back and try to do it again, the mini-game doesn't start. The old man's son will tell me everything that I need to do to win but then nothing happens and there's no option to start the mini-game/quest.
Am I doing something wrong or can the quest only be done once?
Also, I know that after a certain point in the game, you can't go back to look at the Turtle's Paradise fliers. Are there other quests like this that I should know about before I get too far in the game or can the others be done at any time?

I can't help you with the fort condor quest, but as for the turtle's paradise flyers...I found this on ffinsider.net
Quote:
Turtle's Paradise, a restaurant in Wutai, is having a contest of sorts. They've hidden six flyers for their restaurant around the planet. The owner of Turtle's Paradise is offering a prize to anyone who can find all six flyers.
To do this, however, you will need the Key to Sector 5 (find out how to get that in our Key to Midgar section).
In addition, make sure you are able to visit Shinra Headquarters at least ONE MORE TIME before you reach the end of the game. You will need to get the flyer sometime through your adventures there, and if you don't, you can't win the contest.
Flyer #1
The first flyer is in the Sector 5 Slum in Midgar. Look inside the little Boy's room that is in the east side of the town. Go upstairs to find the room and the flyer tacked to the wall.
Flyer #2
Now, this flyer you can only acquire during two parts of the game and ONLY these two parts. During one of your two trips to Shinra Headquarters, find the flyer stuck to the bulletin board at the back of the lobby's first level. You MUST find the flyer during your first or second trip to Shinra Headquarters or you CANNOT win the contest.
Flyer #3
Head to the Ghost Hotel in Gold Saucer. It resides inside the hotel's lobby next to the Item Shop's entrance.
Flyer #4
This flyer is attached to the Tiger Lily Arms Shop in Cosmo Canyon. The shop is along the path that leads to Bugenhagen's house.
Flyer #5
Still in Cosmo Canyon, go to the inn and check out the wall next to in innkeeper's desk.
Flyer #6
Literally right next to Turtle's Paradise in Yuffie's basement in Wutai. Check the banner on the wall outside the trap room.
The prizes for doing all this are sort of worth it. Once you find all the flyers, talk to the owner of Turtle's Paradise, one of the guys behind the bar, and he'll give you a Power Source, Guard Source, Magic Source, Mind Source, Speed Source, Luck Source, and a Megalixir.

The Fort Condor battles can be done as many times as you deem fit. You can do it as soon as you reach the Fort, but I'm not sure if there are certain times when the mini-game can't be played. There is also a story-based battle, at which time you can acquire the Phoenix Materia.

Moved to the help booth, remember all help threads belong there
As for fort condor, i believe you have to advance so far into the storyline before you can fight the next battle, i'll try and look up the guide later too

Well, once you start the Fort Condor mini-game, you'll get to do a battle, then advance into the storyline of the game in order to battle again. You also have to have 4,000 gil with per battle.
Initial encounter, after Mythril Mine (Magic Comb)
Before getting in the water with Mr. Dolphin (Peace Ring)
After getting in the water with Mr. Dolphin, but before you get on the beam (Ether, but the game says you get a Tincture.)
After getting the Buggy, but before it breaks down in front of Cosmo Canyon (Megalixir)
After going through the Save of the Gi, but before you get the Tiny Bronco (Five Potions [well, it says that, but you get absolutely jack].)
After getting the Tiny Bronco, but before you get the Keystone (Five Potions [see above])
After going on the date, but before you put the Keystone in the Altar at the Temple of the Ancients (Superball)
After going through the Temple of the Ancients, but before sleeping at the Forgotten City (Three Turbo Ethers
After getting to Disc Two, but before completing the Whirlwind Maze (Three Turbo Ethers)
Battle Numbers Ten through Fourteen occur during the seven days you're sleeping and captured in Junon. You can't get to it, and there's nothing you can do about it.
...
...
...
...
After getting the Highwind, but before visiting Cloud at Mideel. (Nothing... the message box is... blank...)
Battle Sixteen happens while you're visiting Cloud at Mideel. You can't get to it and there's nothing you can do.
The last battle, and one you can't miss. This is the one for the Huge Materia after you visit Cloud at Mideel.

Thanks everyone for the information, it's very helpful. I think I know what I'm doing now. And sorry about the original thread location, thanks for moving it.
