Henne Mines

Does anyone know when the secret area in the Henne Mines becomes available or howI can get there? Thanks

You must complete all marks set in Jahara.
After that, the Zodiark Esper will become available to you. This unlocks a door leading into the Henne mines secret area. Watch out though, it's probably the hardest area in the game.

You also have to have 10 Espers.

I wished I'd known that before going for a little adventure down there >_>. My team was level 65 and we got owned by kiting a few too many monsters at once.

Teleporting monsters = bad.

I traveled in there a little above level 70 to find Zodiark and I eventually got hammered by him since his Dark attack was arse-raping me. He's not too bad if you face him with a fresh crew, but after a long haul in the Henne Mines to find him and no save points, it's a bitch to get that far and just have him castrate you in front of the women in the reserve party.

Make sure you go in there well prepared. Print out a map that you might be able to find on GameFAQS possibly.

If you do fight Zodiark, you should wear black masks to absorb darkja and darkga.
This won't make you immune to his instant death attack - Darkja though.

HE does get hard when his HP goes critical. You'll just have to keep healing when the Palings up. Then use reflect and bounce scathe off yourself.
