huh?

ok so i just beat Final Fantasy Tactics: war of the lions (please note that i'm NOT talking about the ps1 version!) and after i saw the ending they ask me to save. and...that was it. i was kinda expecting a new game plus or something. why did they ask me to save in the first place?
if thats it then i guess i'll just focous on unlocking characters...
oh can sombody please tell me why the onion knight job is so...well useless? X/

what proply happens is that you get to unlock special stuff now but i have not played the game yet so i am not sure but that has been in games before
