What the best way to beat Ruby weapon and stop him from wiping out my party so easily?

Summon Hades to inflict status effects on him. Equip Ultima, KOTR, MIME, HP-Absorb and Counter whatever else you want. Makes sure you link KOTR with Counter. Every time he counters with Ultima, you will counter with KOTR and gain 9999 hp again.

That's the strategy I used. (Not sure if it is called counter.....)

And your party is gonna get whipped anyways...You just have to hope he doesn't kill the one you need OR before you go into battle with him, kill off the characters you don't need XP

Also Quadra magic linked with KOTR does good too XP But I would go with the strat above. It is easier XP

Kill 2 of your party leaving you with the best one. Once you do that he won't use his quicksand attack. Also use final attack with revive (Life2) and if you have 2, link knights of the round to the other. (you can use phoenix instead of revive but remember 3 characters means instant quicksand death). Oh and he'll counter with Ultima every time you use knights of the round. Add that to what Gabranth said.

The good ole Final attack mastered and paired with mastered revive on every character is always good.

Oh and go into the battle with two characters dead. This makes him stick his tentacles in straight away and avoids the whirpool move for a while.

I have never beaten ruby weapon, i know its pathetic right? well he keeps casting my party out of battle and killing the person im fighting with

the best way i found was to use final attack with revive and also attack with KOTR the you wont die and can just keep attacking
