You don't really need to use Aura, that much I remember - big help sure but I don't remember using Aura and Meltdown much until later bosses. Summon Leviathan whenever you can, try to use some other spells if need be - make sure you have items to revive your summons too if they faint. Would offer more advice, but yeah, been a while since I fought him. If you're lucky, he won't use 10,000 needles too often.

Is there anyway I can get more Aura because I have three stones and I don't feel too much like using them. I heard that you can also get Aura from Fury Fragments but I want to use Selphie's "The End" ability as well. Does that work on Cactuar?

Don't worry about using the Aura stones. Refine them into Aura because you can draw as many Aura spells as you like from the Islands closest to heaven and hell.
Also Selphie's 'The End' works on anything, it's just that the odds of getting it are very slim, it's best not to rely on it.
Just beat him with Zell and use Leviathan with Squall and use your other character to heal if you don't feel like using Aura/Lionheart.
And no, Diablos wouldn't help as Cactaur is a boss

He's not hard, just keep 1 character on standby with a phoenix down on hand
Recover would help to if you have it.
Make use of his 10k needle atack. When he uses it, use a phoenix down on the character and keep him low health. Keep reseting his command menu until you have the limit break available. That way you can spare using aura stones.
