You won't need to worry about this until very late in the game. I wouldn't worry about getting
all of the celestial weapons and aeons though. If you tried that, you'd end up having to level up considerably, and when you came to finishing the game completely, it would be far too easy. That's what happened to me.
Remember, if you haven't realised already, that the characters don't level up automatically. You have to use the sphere grid to do this yourself. If you find yourself unsure of which path to take in the sphere grid, or whether you should ignore a lock until later, try not to worry too much. Much later in the game, teleport spheres and friend spheres, as well as level 1, 2 and 3 key spheres, are very common, so it's easy to go back and fill in gaps if you want to. Level 4 key spheres seem to be pretty rare though.
Oh, and Kimahri seems to be a bit of a problem. I made the mistake of sending him down Lulu's part of the sphere grid, which meant his strength was terrible for most of the game. It may be a good idea to have him learn the Steal ability, since you can apparently steal level 3 key spheres from Biran and Yenke, earlier than you would otherwise get them.
