Almost never start with Quickenings, because then you have no MP left and get slaughtered. Feel free to finish him with a chain, if you must, but don't start.
My tips:
- Focus on healing and protection.
a) Use Cura and handkerchiefs immediately after Firaja.
b) Use Protect if you have it
c) Use Raise to revive fallen characters rather than phoenix downs
- Get the water elemental bullets from the bazaar. Conveniently, these come with a Vega
- Use Water black magic
- Keep Vossler alive, but don't heal him much:
a) you need to focus on healing yourself
b) balance (he uses on low health) spells trouble for Belias
Also, see if you can get the Demonsbane from the first Demon Wall. It's quite tricky, so you might end up needing more training than you would t defeat Belias, though...

1)Go back, kill the 1st Demon Wall (If you can't you should maybe try leveling on Urutan-Yensa at least until you find an Urutan Exile),
2)Press the jewel behind where he was,
3)Save your game,
4)Go down the steps the jewel opened up,
5)Follow the path to a secret part of the main room (With the Way stones),
6)Go down the stairs,
7)Head for the part of the map where the stairs stop going down and there are more on the other side that go up.
8)Fight through the tallows, If there is a chest, GRAB IT. If there is no chest, or the chest has GIL/Knot of rust, Reload.
-Tadaa! You got yourself an overpowered sword for this part of the game. (Demonsbane - +59 Attack) Equip this sword to a heavy armored person, this should make the Belias battle a little, no, quite a lot easier. And yeah, try and get as many handkerchiefs as possible and set up a gambit --> Ally: Status = Oil -- Handkerchief.
