After very little research I've come to the conclusion that this site needs a Patapon thread.
Haven't you heard, oh fellow PSPers, Patapon is the exact game the PSP needed to get out of its slump!
Seriously if you haven't heard anything about it go check it out at blog.us.playstation.com and search for patapon...it is going to be awesome.
Right now there's a demo out with pre-order and I literally have been playing it non-stop for the past week!
Edit : The demo is now at the PC PSP store.
Anyone else into this?
Sorry for the double post but I've no responses to this and it could use a bump.
I'd like to mention that for the month of march Patapon beat Devil may cry 4 for game of the month in EGM.
Now I don't know much about gaming mags but thats gotta mean something. If you have a psp, seriously, go download the demo and enjoy. The word must be spread! PATAPON is GO in just 6 short days folks!

Hmm, according to IGN...

I saw some screenshots, and while it doesn't appeal me as much, I do see some potential and could be very well enjoyable for other players. It's just...not my cup of tea though.

Give it a try! You'll end singing the song of the patapons; somehow it's catchy and you'll get it on your mind for hours

*Tears up* I finally got responses.
Yes, it is one of the most innovative games I've played in a long time. The timing on the drums is a lot more precise and each hit corresponds with either a chance at going into frenzy faster (deal more damage, fire off more attacks and move faster) or resounding in a dull thunk and you're team going 'wtf?' with funny little thought bubbles.
The game has several different movements 'advance, attack, retreat, guard etc' but the hard part is the beat is constant and your enemies don't wait, so you always have to be a step ahead.
For instance, in the Demo you fight against you're first boss monster who has three different attacks ... one is a headbutt that sends everyone flying, another is a fire spit that sends everyone running or catches them on fire and stopping them from attacking and causing them damage, and the last is a chomp that devours one of you're guys. If you don't time you're strategy right the enemy can go into an attack and you're caught unawares...totally not good cereal.
Very fun, addicting, tons of customization...play it...love it. I do. Less than 5 days by my count!
EDIT : This just in! Friday they released the new site with a special prize of a 'Bearblock' that seems like an original piece crafted from the Artist himself! Its like a doll, with the patapon artwork on it, oh and thats not all the grand prize is like a huge entertainment package! Freakin sweet, right now you can sign up at IGN but there may be other places coming soon!
