Site Rules: A Summary.
This edition is for the members among you who simply do not have the time nor patience to read our full list of rules. In this thread, you will find all that you need to know in order to keep your nose clean. If you do have the time, though, we encourage you to read over the original, full list of rules: http://www.finalfantasyforums.net/in...les-24482.html
No more than one account per person. If you forget your password or username then use the links provided at the log-in screen (or follow this link to do so directly). If someone with whom you live is accessing FFF from the same computer let a Moderator know about it.
Posts: Content & Length
Try to contribute to topics as much as possible by elaborating on your thoughts and avoiding one-liners, as well as comments unrelated to the original topic (spam). We don't need an essay but, if you're going to post, you might as well make it worthwhile.
Avoid making more than one post in a row in the same thread (double-posting); just use the "EDIT" button located underneath your posts.
We will not force members to change the way that they write but please be considerate of other members by making your posts somewhat legible, e.g. avoid combining letters with numbers to make a word.
Moderation posts (such as "thread moved to X forum" or "closed") do not count.
Threads
When posting a discussion, please try your very best to look around for a similar thread, which may have already been created. If in doubt, either send a PM to a Moderator or simply say, at the beginning of the thread, that you tried looking for another discussion/you were unsure of an existing discussion. Also, when creating threads, please take care by posting in the correct forum - keep all FF discussions in the FF forums, all debates to The Sleeping Forest, etc.
Asking to Become A Moderator
Don't do it. The current Moderators are active and are aware of who would be suited for a job and who would not. Asking to join the team actually decreases your chances of doing so; this includes instances where members ask on your behalf. Suggestions for Moderators should be sent to an Administrator via Personal Messages. More information can be found here.
Illegal Content
Porn, downloading media, illegal programmes, et cetera, should not be discussed on the boards. This is not the place for it. This includes copyrighted material, which has been plagiarised (where an individual takes credit for work that is not their own) and suggestive material.
Racism, sexism or any other kind of prejudice will not be tolerated on the site.
Respecting Real Names & Other Personal Details
It's simple - if a person doesn't want their personal details spread over the forums and, for some reason, you are caught doing so, you will be punished. Further, if a person does not wish to disclose their private details, don't pester them - it's a form of harassment.
Flaming/Trolling & Respect
Basically, if you go out of your way to make things difficult or awkward for the members of the forum, or are found to be anti-social (to the point where it's a problem), your membership will be reviewed. Remember the cliché: if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. Take arguments and personal disputes away from the site or let a Moderator know about it, so we can try to solve the problems. Do not provoke members in to arguing or acting out.
If you have complaints to make about the site, please do so in a mature and appropriate manner by either posting in the Feedback & Suggestions forum or sending a message to either a Moderator or Administrator.
Advertising
Avoid advertising via personal messages - we have a board dedicated to it, found here.
Usernames
Members thought to have an inappropriate username may be asked to change it within a set period of time - if you do not comply, then an Administrator may change your name without your permission. Due to technical difficulties, this also includes a number of foreign characters (such as Japanese or symbols) - you will be notified if there is a problem.
Further, if you have been inactive for a long period of time and/or have not contributed to the site very much, and you have a username desired by another member (such as the obvious, common ones, like Sephiroth or Vivi), then an Administrator may remove your username and allow it to be used by another member. You will be notified of this change.
The staff hold the right to amend, add or remove any of the site rules upon reaching a unanimous decision - we will notify you of any serious changes, which may affect how the site is maintained.
