Characters that you hated at first, but then ended up liking

So was there any FF character that you hated when you first played the game, but then for some reason ended up liking later?

For me it was Rikku. She annoyed me to no end in FFX and was unbearable in X2.

Now for some reason, I like her a lot. And now she's one of my favorite characters in X. She still annoys me in X2 though.

There was also a time when I hated Quina with a passion. Now I find him/her to be a bit amusing. And it's fun to have an FF character that looks like the creators were on acid when they developed it.

In IX: Steiner; he was a total jerk to Zidane at first and while I did try to see things from his POV (I did!) I just couldn't do it...
Then in Disc 3, around Terra he started doing it for me and by the end of that disc he was trained up 40-50 levels (to equal my party at that time) and he became part of my overall team
In X: It had to be Kimahri; he was so uppity and he annoyed the living hell outta me, until I reached the Ronso's Mountain and he got picked on, so I leveled him up (after being beaten by those other two Ronso) and whooped Seymour with him!

For me, there's a few. The first one was Yuffie. At the start of FFVII, she really annoyed me. It's only when I went on a date with her that I started to like her.

And, also, Gogo. I started to like it during the ending movie.

For me it was Edea. At first i hated her because she was wicked hard. Then, the second time i played disc 1 (i only had disc one at the time) I totally loved her, and have ever since.

Tifa. At first I really hated her, and thought she was a bit of a slut, and then grew to really dislike her when you come to find that she allowed Cloud to live his lie.

But, then I played it over, and realized that there was nothing the girl could have done, and that she was a stronger character for staying by his side regardless.

Hmm for me it was Tifa. I agree for reasons stated above me. Plus being a Clorith fan...ya know.

But I don't hate her or anything. She's a good character, I just think she could have used a bit more character development in the game.

I hated Edea until I found out the truth about her. Now she's one of my favourite characters, even though I don't know that much about her true side.
I also disliked Auron at first, and didn't trust him, but he has to be one of the sexiest FF characters!

I'm not sure about other characters... My feelings about Rinoa kinda fluctuated. Sometimes she's a little irritating, but most of the time I find her to be sweet and sensitive.

Gabranth and Basch i hated them both at the start of XII

Basch:- mainly because he killed the king and ruined the lives of so many (Pre knowledge of evil twin brother) and i started to like him after you discover thet Gabranth is his evil twin

Gabranth:- started to dislike him around the time i discovered it was him who ruined the lives of many but then in the end when he chooses to sacrifice his own life to help Larsa and shows his 'good side' i begin to like him

I hated Yuffie, for causing all the cufuffle in Wutai lol. Then I kinda appreciated her more after finishing the game and watching Advent Children. & strangely enough Tifa bugged me for the whole typical girly damsel in distress impression that I got at the start of the game..
That soon changed <3 of course.

For me it had to be Kimhari, on my first play through I found him boring and useless.

On my second go through as soon as I used the sphere grid properly and learned some fiend attacks he became extremely useful.

At first found Rikku annoying...that never changed.
