I like the materia system from FF7.

But I didn't like the junction system from 8 how you had rejunction every time someone left.

id say the sphere grid.
it was simple to understand and easy to use and u could send ur characters down different paths making them into whatever u wanted, warriors, mages etc

I like the Materia system best, the flexibility was just amazing. FFX's sphere grid and XII's license board really entertained me too.

Although i really enjoyed IXs system it bugged me that only certain characters could learn certain skills. like i really wanted to give Garnet black magic but i couldn't.

the system i despise most (apart from job systems) is the Junction system. simply horrible. it makes magic redundant, because each time i use magic my stats go down. Horrible.

I despised the VIII junction system the most as well. I mean, come on, the whole status and strength abilities are mostly governed by how much magic you have stocked.

That said, I choose the materia system, even though certain items and equipment severely limited your ability to play materia, it was good nevertheless. The Sphere Grid was also particularly awesome, only it takes quite a while to complete --- that's mainly because you actually know how much you need to complete it.
Plus, what happens when you run out of spheres?

yes the junction system was balls!
it made the game far too easy, as soon as you could refine magic u were practically invincible.
The ffix system was good but sometimes i found it took a long time to learn certain abilities, although i liked the fact characters had abilities relating to their class, garnet has white mage abilities like healer and zidane had thievery etc.

I quite enjoyed all the systems (yes, even X-2's to an extent), but my favourite has to be IX's. Sure, it doesn't offer the versatility of VII's or VIII's, but it's a nice way of refining what a player's strengths are.

I never liked being able to make everyone have the same skills, so IX was perfect for me.

I quite liked FFIX's Ability Equip System. I liked the fact that not everyone was the same. I also liked FFVII's Materia System and FFXII's License Board System but the possibility of being too similar and not really being unique is the minor factor I didn't like about the 2.

FFVII: Mainly because you could equip the magic and it was the only FF game that I mainly choose Black Magic over attack.

FFXII: I liked the License Board because you could send your character in any direction and don't have to follow a path. If you where at one end of the License Board and wanting to purchase something on the other end then you are free to do so as long as you have a unlocked the block. The new FFXII International has seperate unique boards for a paticular job and I think if FFXII went with that concept in the first place, the License Board would have been perfect. The fact that each character would be unique but you could choose which character you want to be unlike making them all the same which can be dull.

That's most likely because the junction system was a bit too complex.
I mean, you had to have this sort of magic specifically for this purpose, specific magic for status junctions and whatnot.
And you can only use one spell for each. X_X
That killed everything.

i liked the materia system the best. it was really flexible and gave you lots of freedom.

the sphere grid is good to, but i dont like the fact that you dont gain exp and get levels. that was fun
