If you could change any part of any Final Fantasy title, including the sequels and spin-off's, what would you change and why?

I'd make Aerith die at the end of the game, just because I liked using her and her limits would have been awesome against the weapons.
More optional characters in VIII and up.
Make Edea a permanent character in VIII.
Make Beatrix a permanent character in IX.
Give Penelo a backstory.

I'd disagree with Aerith dying at the end. I'd keep her death where it's at in the plot just 'cause it was so unexpected and moving. Sure it can still be moving at the end of the game, but I don't think it would have the same kind of dramatic effect as the current game's death. 'cause you know...she takes your materia and there's no way to play her anymore. xD
I'd like to change...the laughing scene. Or actually the whole voice-over cast from Final Fantasy X. No offense to supporters, but I found the voice actors horrible.

Make XII worth my time to play 
Destroy X2 from ever coming to existence.
Make XI an actual game and call the online XI Final Fantasy Online.
Make Aerti cannon in VII  And add some lesbian action.

Hey now, don't be forgetting Yuffie in this action
Things I'd change:
1. Erase AC and all VII spinoffs from existence
2. Halt production on Dissidia and make it nothing more than a bad rumor
3. Kill all thoughts Sakaguchi ever had on Spirits Within, without that abomination we'd still have our precious Squaresoft
4. Make them spend more time on XII so it didn't feel like a damn beta with bricks for characters
5. Allow the player to choose sides in XII (that way I could play on Archadea's side)

I'd take away the numbers from 11 and 12, make 11, FF Online, and 12 would be just a part of the Ivalice alliance. Deny that we made ffX-2, and call it a hoax. re-create FF7 once and for all, then stop the killing of the poor game, stop all sequals to any of the numbers, make ff13: ff11.

Wow, really am feeling the LOVE for FFXII here.
Let's see...seeing as FFXII was worthy, to me anywho, all I'd have to change is only a few things:
- Save the Judges. Of course. Somehow, I just need to think on methods.
- Kill Balthier at the end. Make it so that he dies saving Fran.
- Change some cutscenes to FMV's
For other games...
FFVIII:
- Kill Rinoa somehow.
- Hey, make the main cast INTERESTING.
- Er, ummm...that's eet I think.
FFVII:
- Make it less emo.
- Kill Cloud.
- AND THE FECKING COMPILATION!
FFVI:
- Less useless characters.
- Summon more then once per battle.
Meh, can't be bothered to think of anything else right now. Well, I could launch into a FFXII debate, but it's really not worth my time now.

Final Fantasy X:
- I'd have Tidus suffer a gruesome, bloody death. It'd have some humor to it, too. Like...it looks like there's gonna be a happy ending, but then he suddenly meets an unfortunate end.
- Incorporate a world map to add more exploration. The game feels too linear.
- Remove the laughing scene...disgusting.
Final Fantasy XII:
- Completely change the cast of characters, making them semi-interesting.
- Go back to the classic Final Fantasy battle system.

I'm feeling the whole kill the sequel vibe here, coz I can neither afford them nor keep up (and they are just raping VII's storyline) Id also make sure the bloody thing was translated properly and Id make sure Yuffie & Vincent got some screen time aswel (as like unlockable scenes obviously)
Id like to make the whole time compression thing in VIII make a little more sense. I'd give Quistis a bf at the end aswel, 'cause she was lonely
XII - I'd damn well make sure they all had a decent back story, especially Vaan seeing as he is like the most pointless main character to EVER exist. I would also try to find a happy medium between the new and old battle system. It was too much for my old brain to take in ....
