Most famous FF character?

Who are the top ten most famous Final Fantasy characters in your opinion? Please, try to include reasons why.

1) Cloud. He's the ultimate hero, and FFs signiture character, the hair, the costume. Everything.

2) Sephiroth. He killed Aerith, one of the most infamous VG scenes ever, work it out.

3) Aerith. Sephiroth killed her, one of the most infamous VG scenes ever.

4) Squall. He's been in KH and has a legion of fangirls.

5) Vincent. Army of fangirls. Own game.

6) Tifa. Army of fanboys. Huge boobs.

7) Auron. Resident badass of FFX. Army of fanboys and girls.

8) Yuna. Heroine of FFX and FFX2.

9) Tidus. FFX and FFX2 revolve around him.

10) Vivi. When people think of a black mage, they think of Vivi.

Reasons kinda sucky, i'll expand upon them after sleep.

I think the most famous FF character there is Sephiroth, He seems to be the most famous villian of the videogame era, because he has killed one of the other famous FF characters and that's how most people know Sephiroth.

I'd say Sephiroth pretty easily. There's enough fanart and games involving him nowadays to sink North America.

Second would be Cloud, I think, mainly since he's the figurehead of the most popular FF game yet, and is pretty identifiable.

If there was a most popular woman in FF, it'd be Tifa (damn this FFVII!!!) for similar reasons as Sephiroth, although the fanart is often a little less...um...dignified. Yeah.

1.) Tifa -- as Mark has mentioned, army of fanboys. Too bad I usually agree with fanboy views, even though I'm not one.

2.) Cloud -- I think both him and Tifa are in a footrace for most famous. I think everyone who's ever played an RPG has heard of them.

3.)...ah, screw it. *Includes Numbers 4, 5, and 6.

Basically, the rest of the FFVII cast. Aerith being Number 3, because, you know, she died and a lot of people remember that moment. Number 4 would be Cait Sith, even though apparently many people hate him. Number 5 would be Red XIII, just because I know a lot of people who like him and know him. Number 6 would be Cid. A guy in a Final Fantasy game named Cid would certainly attract a lot of attention, since, you know, he's been in nearly ever FF game created. Number 7 would be Sephiroth, because he's every gamer's favorite villain.

8.) Squall. As the main character of FFVIII, and the fact that a lot of people have actually played FFVIII makes him pretty popular....at least as far as I know.

9.) Vaan. Most tyros to the the FF series usually get FFXII. Case in point, my cousin who got this game over the summer. He hates Vaan...and so do a lot of other people. It's one of those instances when people hating you actually makes you pretty popular.

10.) Ashe. With her ad on the top of every single page, it's hard for her NOT to be popular.

I would think Cloud would be more popular than Sephiroth. Cloud has appeared in many different games, more than Sephiroth. Cloud has even appeared in an advertisement for a major phone company. (Motorola or Nokia.) Sephiroth would come second. Sephiroth does have a huge fan base but Cloud is more of an icon than him. Sephiroth is more popular but Cloud is more famous than Sephiroth.

Sorry AG, but I think Tifa is more famous than Aerith.

I actually don't think Tifa is that famous. People that do not play Final Fantasy usually do not know who she is. She may be more liked that Aerith, but definently not more famous.

My list.

1. Cloud. Even people who do not play video games have heard of Cloud at some point in their life. They may not know what game he is from, or what he looks like, but they still have heard of him.

2. Sephiroth, always known as the bad guy from Final Fantasy VII. Again, people who do not play video games have at least heard of Sephiroth.

3. Aerith. Will forever be known as "the girl who was killed in that one video game." Lesser known than Cloud and Sephiroth, but anyone who has at least played a video game at some point in their life after the SNES has heard of this character.

4. Squall. People familur with the Final Fantasy series or casual gamers know him as "the main character of FFVIII."

5. Yuna. A very popular cosplay at anime cons. Anyone at least familur with anime know who she is.

6. Rikku. Also, anyone at least familur with anime knows that this character exists. Very popular cosplay at cons.

7. Locke. Yes I know. But many people who are hard core gamers, even ones that are not Final Fantasy fans, know who this character is. Strange since he isn't the main character.

I defo have to agree with Cloud, I think I'd have Auron abit further up the list though. Aeris would most definately be second for that whole death scene & Seph for the same reason obviously.

Can't say I'd include anyone fron XII altho Dr Cid seems to be quite famous -he is hawt lol

Yeah, that's true. Aerith is famous for the main character who died in the middle of a game. Aerith's dead was a huge shock to gamers. Tifa seems famous now due to being the lead female in Advent Children.

2. Sephiroth-The Ultimate arch-enemy
3. Bahamut-has some mention in most/ all of the FF games (all the games i have played anyway)
4. Vincent-possibly the most known vampire in the know univers close to dracula
5. Tifa-huge boobs
6. Cid-in all the FF games
7. Auron-posibly the only proper badass in the hole FF series
8. Yuna-everyone's favorite summoner
9. Tidus-Everyone's favorite dream
10. Zidane-has a tail
