Oh gosh, I TOTALLY know what you mean!

Since Elixirs are these precious items that fully restore your HP and MP, it's automatically assumed that you're not gonna find a lot of them through a game play, so you wanna save them for important battles that will probably show up in the future.

But by the time that important battle comes, you're most likely to have sufficiently high enough stats that you'll only need to use a Hi-Potion if necessary, maybe an X-Potion if you really need it.

But not the Elixir

I'm like that, too. I just hate to use them even when I need them. I've only used one throught the whole of FFXII. I don't use Ethers in that game either. They are rare for me. O_o

Haha I NEVER use ethers like ever, they cost WAY too much and it pains me to use them, I think everytime I have played FFVII I have never ONCE used an ether, I just hold onto them and treasure them, I'd rather deal with no mp and find an inn than use an elixer or an ether.....it would have made life so much easier if I had just actually used them

am i the only person who uses elixirs all the time besides red_mage? i guess so! i use elixirs when i don't want to waste money on an inn and stuff. in FF7 i use them on a very special boss: this boss that the creators were idiotic enough to make undead. one elixir on that idiot and battle's over. but seriously, people, square enix made elixirs for a reason. that reason is simple: TO BE USED BY THE PLAYER. i hope a different viewpoint from someone who always uses them will change your attitude a bit.

I usually save elixers and Megalixers for the hardest guy in the game. (which is rarely ever the last boss) And even then I still get killed. :@

But I never use them for random battles because I feel that is just a waste. So yeah, either for the hardest guy in the game, or a very tough boss.

And even then it's usually in times of desparation.

yeah when i first found out what they did i was like MUST SAVE now i just use them whenever i don't feel like spending money. that and the boss i mentioned of course.

I agree. I've only used a Mega-Phoenix Down about once, because i look and i only have about 3 so i think..."Wow! Better not waste this there really rare" XD.

So i feel weird if i use them because i think that I'm never going to get them again

Elixirs aren't all that rare. Megalixirs are rare enough to save for when you need it, as are mega pheonix's, though.

Ugh, I totally understand what Suki is saying. This rings especially true if we're talking about FFXII. Megalixirs and Elixirs are super rare and I had to use TWO megalixirs on the damn magic pots on Pharos Subterra. You have to do that, because otherwise they'll pwn you. Damn, I hate those things!

I am the very same way! I actually hardly ever use my elixers. I would always save them for the last boss but when I get to the last boss I level up so much that I hardly need them. So I am left with all these Elixers when I could have used them when I was having trouble with earlier bosses. >.<
