FFVI. it has a more solid plot, better music, better graphics. and better battle system
FFVI > FFV

If it's on GBA, get FFV. VI's sound and visual effects are horrible in GBA. FFV's a good pick if you want to learn more from the series bcoz there'll be many recurring characters and themes taken here. the gameplay is very challenging in my opinion.

I think it depends on what type of Final Fantasy you like better. FFV has deeper gameplay, but a weak storyline. FFVI has more traditional gameplay and a much more involved story.
If you're more familiar with PS2 FFs, which do you like better? FFX or FFXII? FFX would be more equivalent to FFVI, while FFXII would do the same for FFV.

Both are awesome games, but I prefer FFV by far!
FFV was the first old school FF game I gave a shot at, and it delivered big time! It was the first game that I played where I passionately hated the main villain. Backstory was awesome, characters were awesome, and Gilgamesh kicked ass!

I would definitely say Final Fantasy V. Final Fantasy VI was a good game but it just didn't have the character that FFV had. There were many more characters... just none of them were that enthralling in my opinion. FFV did a good job of giving every single character a lot of depth and backstory since there were not many of them. Quality over quantity.

I have IV and V in antholigy but I've never completed either of them. Just thinking about this disapoints me and makes me want to play them. I'm playing X at the moment and after that I'll be playing VIII... I'll get round to them!
