Difficulties
Which Final Fantasy was the Hardest and which was the easiest in your opinion?
For me, I think FFIX was the easiest and FFVIII was the hardest.
Oh, I am talking about the main series, so do not include games like FFX-2 (like you could really call that a game anyways). But you get my point.

The easiest is probably FF8 in my opinion since you lv up UBER quickly and you could get UBER spells right near the start.
The hardest is probably FF4 because the encounter rate is way too high and the enemies seem to do random damage. Not to mention Zeromus is probably the hardest boss in the series.

Mmmm, easiest I'd say was FFX, but hardest was FFVIII, considering it's still the one I can't beat 'cause of the junction/magic/drawing system. Blech.

Easiest: VII (it's easier than IX and that's even before Knights of the Round)
Hardest: definitely XII. It's simply brutal in the amount of leveling you have to do to survive. And it's not surviving bosses either, just normal area-specific enemies, like in the Stillshrine or Pharos.

The easiest one by far had to be FFX, I just didn't struggle with it at all  I just love to brag!
Hardest for me is FFVIII, but also the best in my opinion. It challenging in various parts of the game, but it's not overly difficult so it doesn't make it eye-gougingly frustrating!

Jesus whats with the ff8 being hard?
All ya had to do is get a load of decent spells and junction them and everything is over.
And yeah ff8 was the easiest to lv up in since you had to get the same amount of exp each time :/

I'm quite shocked at the fact that FFVIII was considered the hardest. Perhaps, maybe, some challenges were a bit difficult; however, overall the game was a walk in the park. The hardest would have to be XII, followed by VII. FFX was quite challenging in parts too and the Dark Aeons were probably the most formidable foe I've fought in the series, along with Ozma and Emerald/Ruby weapon.

I am too. I found VIII to be incredibly easy. X was by far the easiest for me though. I pretty much breezed through the game with very little effort.
IV was probably the hardest. Plenty of tough enemies and bosses. Plus the game tends to shuffle your party quite a bit.
Does anyone else find that the pre-ffvii titles seem to be a lot more difficult? I've been playing V and VI and I've noticed that. And I'm not saying that it's a bad thing.
