Character Appearances
Something I’ve always wanted to see in a FF game is armor changing, their is nothing I hate more then to get the best armor in the game and...I am still wearing street clothes or the same clothes throughout the whole game. Now I know in some the sword and shield changes but when I make a character to be a "tank" with the heaviest armor in the game and he still looks like he's wearing shorts and sandals...I get a little pissed. How else is with me on costume changes?
Dragon Quest VIII had different outfits and at the very end of the game when you got the dragon armor...your whole outfit changed to match the armor and it looked incredible. Now the remake of Final Fantasy III when you switch jobs your outfit changes which I also think is great and it's a step in the right direction.
All I’m trying to say is when I put 100+ hours into a game I want more then the sword and shield to change. When I get the final armor or just different armor types like "leather" "Mail" "Plate" I want the outfit of the character to change.
What are your opinions on this? Or what games have you played that used this system or wish it did do something like this?

I really wish the same to happen in FF games, though SE keeps making it like only stats change per equipment (except weapons) and names mean technically nothing 'cause even if you wear a full body armor you'll still look the same...
At least the weapons does change....seeing the same weapon even though you equipped another one with a different appearance would really suck...

Yeah, I definitely would like to see costume changes throughout the game, and not the ones that you have to change manually yourself. >.>
I mean yeah, just the sword and armor changes don't really mean much, like you said, if you equip a character with pure armor and make him a tank and he still has his original...dare I say it...wimpy clothes on or other, then the change effect really doesn't do much for the character in general.
The aura is just the same, you can equip a character all you want with swords and accessories, basically like a knight....and still look like a peasant. D'=
..one of the reasons I like Tactics. >.>
Sometimes it just gets in the way of what you're trying to do, in my opinion.

It kind of defeats the purpose to spend so much time doing all the side quests to only get a star next to your save file. When I go through and get all the ultimate weapons/armor and take on the final boss I want my characters to look badass like their capable of such feat, not just some outcasts that teamed together to kill this ultimate being.
I would also like to see more Game+ where when you beat the game you can go back and replay but the enemies are harder and or you can go above 9999 HP or something.

Seems like FFXII is the closet comparison. You can change your shield and your weapon, but still not your clothes. One of my favorite games, Legend of Legaia, has a system where when you upgrade your clothes, your outfit changes in battle...not on the field, just in battle. I think that's a really neat idea. ^__^
But sometimes I wear lower stated armor just for the looks.

I agree costume change would be a nice feature in an FF game. =D. In FFX some of the wepons still looked the same although they had different names or attributes. lol.
has anyone ever played Gauntlet: Dark Legacy? If so...with each 10 or 15 levels their outfit changed so you can see how advanced you were. I'd like something like that as well.

I don't mean the armor needs to be different for every piece of junk helm you pick up. Just if your wearing robes then make the character actually wear robes, or leather armor for a rogue/thief type. Yeah a lot like FFIII, it would be incredible with the graphics we have today to see a decked out white mage, and a evil looking black mage and if you equip robes that enhance say Thunder then you get like a static shock coming off you in battle. I know i'm going way to far with this but Ultimate Armor should be...Ultimate not still running around in sandals.

Lol. Why are you referring to Basch? xD.
Well, maybe with each armour a little bit can change. I wouldn't want it all to be the same. lol.

I wasn't just talking about Basch I actually had Wakka in mind when I typed that I was just trying to imply that i'd rather see my knights in heavy armor. It would probably throw off the FMVs if they made it that way, I mean it's hard enough for them to even have the weapon you have equipped show up in the cut scenes.
