Separated at Birth?

As I'am playing through Final Fantasy 8 and summoning the Guardian Force called Quezacotl sometimes, I can't help but to thing.....

Was Quezacotl and Valefor separated at birth?

I mean seriously, look at their pictures. They look sort of the same. (Yes I know the graphics of Quezacotl kinda stink but its due to the technology back then compared to now.)

What do you all think? (Dont try to bash if you don't agree. )

(I dunno how to make 2 images appear in same textbox thing when creatin' a thread so yeah, just look at the link under 1st image.)

Um, not sure about the whole "separated by birth" concept. I would like to think that since they are both thunder elemental-based, they used similar designs (creature with wings) for that. You can call it lack of creativity, I don't know. (Both are pretty cool-looking enough, don't get me wrong). But I don't think that Valefor and Quezacotl are in any way related to each other at all.

I disagree.. they have a similar model I guess. It wouldn't surprise me if Square reused old models, but these two don't really look similar.

None of the summons look the same from different games. Bahamut, for instance, always looks different. So I guess they could've remade Quez and changed the name considering the original name was stupid and unpronounceable.

I meant shape/mdel related. (I kinda used the Separated at Birth thing from a very old GMR Magazine. Now known as Game Informer. Once it had Squall and some other real life person in it being compared. It was kinda funny.)

They're both giant bird...things. I guess that counts for something. I don't think they look all that similar, though.

Not really... I guess after ten games, you kinda lose the ability to be creative with monster designs. I know that Quezacotl is an actual creature in.. I think Norse Mythology.

Re-used designs isn't uncommon with game series or games from the same game company, and not with Square Enix either:

This is Ultimecia's final form in FF8:

A little hard to tell from this pic, but it's two top halves of a humanoid body joined at the waist...

...And this is Anima from FF10:

See the similarities?

EDIT: Oh noes, the pic is gone >__<

Yeah it gets quite hard to create entirely new models when you run outta ideas and used them quite alot.

Yeah Final Form Ultimecia and Anima look similar. Never noticed that.

Yeah, I'm not so sure that it's Norse Mythology...it might be, but I was thinking something South American or maybe even Native American, I'm fairly sure it's one of those...It means something like lightning bird (go figure), I think...

But seriously, Quezacotl and Valefor don't really look alike besides being bird-type summons...you might as well say Phoenix is their triplet separated at birth too...

Ah, hell, let's throw in Tritoch/Valigarmanda and make it a quadruplet (though it's certainly more than just a bird)!

Can't say I ever made the comparison tbh, altho, I never really notice these things anyway. One's a big bird, the others....er...well, Iv no idea what Quezy's meant to be

I suppose the only similarity is the shape and winds....which Im sure you could pull up alot of similiraties based on just that.....
