Metal Gear FC
This is a fan club for all the Metal Gear franchise fans on FFF. This is the place to talk about any aspect of the Metal Gear franchise from the original MSX hit to the latest and greatest of them all and the upcoming movie.
I'm creating this club mainly because I crave somewhere to talk about Metal Gear as a whole and not just MGS4. There are a few Metal Gear forums but none really tickle my fancy, so I thought I'd create a fan club here to talk about the Metal Gear franchise with other fans.
I took the liberty of quickly creating a simple banner for members of this club to use, but if you join please feel free to make your own and share it with others. You don't have to use mine, in fact you don't have to use a banner at all. Simply post in this thread saying you wish to join and I'll personally add you to the fan club members list.
Here's the banner I made:

I won't bother with fan club rules, just abide by the forum rules and you'll be fine.
So if Metal Gear is your thing then join this club and get talking.

I'll join. For a moment there, I thought you were creating a Metal Gear football club...

Good to have you on board, Gabs.
So what first attracted you to Metal Gear then?

The 10/10 score; along with the reviews it got. After seeing the comments it received, I went out to buy it a week after its release. naturally, I loved it's storyline, and consequently, became hooked to the franchise.

I'll join, as the name suggest, I'm a life long MGS fan. Also was one of the founders of one of the biggest MGS forums out right now so my love and knowledge of the game has quite some extension.
Looking forward to talk about the love of my life...after Natalie Portman

I'll join too. Even though I found Metal Gear Solid just several months ago, a lot of aspects just pulled me in. (not just getting the Solid Series for free XD)
The music. Of course. That was just epic at times, and the track when you're found was my favorite.
I just loved the story even though it could drag at some times during codecs. Some of the cutscenes could grab the emotion and pull you in even more.
And those porno mags never get tiring.
I'm planning to watch the Metal Gear games.

Metal Gear Solid?
I never really got into it, it was one of those games that I prefered to watch other people play as I wasn't that good at it.
I never really got in to Metal Gear until I played MGS3, I played MGS2 but I didn't think it was fantastic because it lacked a certain key character and Big Shell wasn't my most favourite of places.
MGS3 just amazed me, the story and the characters were great and I was fascinated by the sniper battle with The End. He snuck up on me the first time I battled him and I was just like "Wow, this game is amazing" even though I lost.
EDIT: Welcome to the club, Kisala.

Yeah, MGS3 was amazing. It certainly entertained me for like 20 playthroughs.
Has anyone else here played the original two Metal Gears? They were originally on the MSX console, but transferred (as well as translated) to PS2 in the Subsistence bundle. I enjoyed Metal Gear 2, especially the final two fights.

MGS1 was the first I played, I got the demo back in 98'. It only went up to the part where you meet the DARPA chief, but still in that little time I knew this game was destined for greatness.
Till this day MGS1 is still my favorite of the series, I loved the story, backgrounds for every character, even the boss's, and the musical score is #1 in my eyes. The song "Enclosure" is my favorite of the series.
MGS2 was...good but a let down to me. I was disappointed that you hardly get to play with a certain character.
And yes I agree, MGS3 is amazing, that game is my second favorite of the series. Only reason its only second is because of nostalgia from MGS1. The atmosphere from MGS3 is unlike any other game, the musical score really creates a great game. And the ending is has no rival, I think its the best ending of anything I've ever seen, movie, game, book, and so on.
MGS4 was greatness, I won't say much about this game since its new and I don't want to say an spoilers. Although it was great and better then MGS2 imo, it just seemed to be lacking something. Therefore I say MGS3 and 1 are better.
Edit to answer above question: Yeah, I played em a while back and again on the MGS3 disk. They are quite good games.

In my opinion, MGS2 lacked environmental atmosphere. In MGS1, you went through snowfields, Towers, Nuclear Buildings etc. MSG3's environment was just...beautiful. Jungles, Mountains, Forests etc. However, MGS2...was just located in in an Oil clear up facility. (Even though we find out it wasn't designed for that)
