Worst Sports Mascots
Well, here's a sports thread that even non-sports fans can enjoy...hopefully.
Worst Mascots and team names of all time, including college, high school, and professional.
Well, okay these are all just from my opinion, using other weblog rankings as a little guide. Here are my 10 Worst Mascots (in no particular order):
1.) Stanford Cardinal. Sorry Stanford fans and students, just hate this excuse for a mascot. Why is it a tree for crying out loud? And why can't your team name be plural?
2.) Xavier Blue Blob. It's the cookie monster.
3.) Gaylord the Camel
Does it explain itself? Really, who would want to be on a team with a mascot named Gaylord?
4.) Purdue Pete
That just looks scary to me. Everyone I asked has Purdue Pete in their Top 10 worst mascots.
5.) Laurel Hill High School Hoboes:
Again, another case of 'Why did you name our team after a not-so good role model?!'
6.) Watersmeet Nimrods
Probably my favorite one. It's quite ironic how the school professes that 'Nimrod' is actually a biblical hunter when in fact they ignore the fact that 'nimrod' has meant a retard for the past few decades.
7.) UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs
Probably one of the most non-threatening animals alive. This is a banana slug:

8.) Washington Redskins
Just pure racist, though most people wouldn't know that, right?
9.) Rhode Island School of Design Nads
I won't even post a picture of what their mascot looks like. I can imagine the cheerleaders yelling out: "Go Nads!"
10.) Butte Pirates
This one takes the cake. Even though the unfortunate Idaho city school is pronounced byoot, the ignorant layman might pronounce it in more modern terms. I just lol'ed.

Unioto High School Sherman Tanks:
Their mascot actually this 5 ton tank that's sitting right behind the gentleman on their homepage. I imagine what it's like being a student with a tank sitting right in the middle of campus.

Haha, I wonder if those people felt weird wearing the costumes. But I must say that they're quite interesting to look at.
Our high school mascot was boring. Panthers. Meh, so plain and dull. Then I went to Riverside Community College for awhile. I forgot what their mascot was though. =/

Scarboruogh are a really small team now - they're almost bankrupt - so I probably can't find a picture.
And as for sponsored names; York City's ground is called the Kit Kat Stadium, or something along those lines. xD

lol, okay, contributing to the worst stadium/competition names of all time, I found this:
The Gaylord Hotel Music City Bowl -- must be the gheyest sponsor of all time, considering that when you win the trophy, the word 'Gaylord' will be stamped on it.
