I got one for Christmas and I like it. I don't have that many games for it yet, mainly because I already played all those PSone RPGs on the, take a guess, PSone. But other than that, it's a lovely system.
I not only use it for games, but I also use it as an e-book, store photo's on it etc.
You'll have to ask yourself what you expect from a handheld and to which degree the PSP can provide you with that. Are you looking for a mini-PS2? Or do you want more original games? What are you willing to pay for a handheld? What kind of games do you like? And so on.

Not really, get a DS instead. Cheaper and a library of games not made up of mostly PS2 ports.

The DS is good, I agree.
The same, I'd say the PSP is DEFINITELY worth buying.
I bought mine, and I love it to death.
Just make sure the PSP you buy is v1.5, or at worst, a v2.71.
My PSP plays NES, SNES, MSX, GBA and PSone games, and it can read e-books as well as able to view vids.
I use it as my MP3 player as well.
AND you can go online on it pretty easily.
How sweet is that?
And for the record, I'm not lying.

I have emulators on my PC for those consoles and more for free.
I have e-books on my PC too, oh and vids for my PC and a DVD player which nobody else has these days I'm sure.
I have an mp3 player as well as pretty much anyone else.
And we also use these fantastic PC machines for getting online too!
Greatest thing is that 95% of people who back the PSP is they never mention one game for the bloody thing.

Yeah, but you're using different devices for some of 'em, when the PSP could do all of 'em in it.
What I was tryin' to say is the PSP could do what I mentioned in the earlier post, so that people will have more to do with it, rather than just play only PSP games.

Which most people can do anyway and with a far better quality, why buy a movie you already have when you can play it on a DVD player? It's fucking pointless.

Something to look forward to perhaps but I wouldn't get a console just for something that's not out yet. Pleb.
