Fable is worth playing for a day and then you have completed it. Not worth the money. Rent it if you can.

Fable is a pretty good game... but only as long as you don't focus on the disappointments... I never expected Lionhead Studios to be able to surpass the Elder Scrolls series anyway (Which was what they were wanting to do, but didn't accomplish). I rented the original when it came out, but decided not to get Fable until after I heard of Lost Chapters, which I got for my Xbox. The battle system is better than TES 3: Morrowind (which makes you feel like you're blind at the beginning... With the stats stupidly determining accuracy rather than hit strength), however, I wish I'd picked up the PC version instead... Because of the restrictions on the xbox, the textures pop in and out almost as much as Halo 2, which is my main complaint about this game. Much props to the relationship-building system... Despite the lack of AI and NPC reactions.

Fable is alright, it's one of those games you play when you have nothing to do for a day. My boyfriend played as a evil character and I played a good character. It's a lot easier to be good than in Oblivion. Questing was fun. I was disappointed that I couldn't make my character gay but it was still fun to hit on men.

Anyone else see all the trailers and video demos for Fable 2? It looks pretty sweet... Context-sensitive single-button combat system, Total Economics system (you can buy almost anything as long as you deal with the upkeep through quests for that property), Dog to simulate an unconditional love relationship as well as function as a battle comrade and navigation system, and etc.
So far, it looks pretty freaking sweet... And it should be released spring next year.

I hope Fable 2 provides a deeper gaming experience. Fable's great, but games such as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion really show it up. Gimme a larger world to explore through free-roaming.
