At the risk of sounding like a bitch, I don't even know why this subject is in the mako reactor section. I thought this section was reserved for, y'know, serious subjects.

This whole "OMGZ THE MAYANS TOTALLY CALLED THAT THE WORLDS GONNA END IN 2012!111" is so absurd. Yes, the Mayans were very good at making calendars and recording time accurately. Suddenly that means they're amazing at predictions?

Also, people vastly misinterpret the meaning of 2012. I've read in several places that the Mayans believed that 2012 marked the beginning of a new era. It didn't mean the end of the world. People just interpreted it that way because it's more fun to run around like nervous chickens, worrying the sky is going to fall in at any moment.

I think I may have watched that same decoding the past episode that spawned this topic. I'm not sure though. It may have been just something on Nostradamus...or the Antichrist.

The thing about predictions, in both Nostradamus and the book of revelations is that predictions are always vague enough to only be proven true after something fitting the description happens. Mayans just put a date to it. As it's when the sun will become perfectly aligned with the milky way. Leading to the cleansing of earth and everyone on it.

Doomsday or not, I think it'll be an interesting day. Also the winter solstice. Shortest day, longest night. Happens at exactly 11:11, a unique time that is.

Not much use worrying about it now, but I look forward to the months before it to see just how everyone acts. It should be fun.

It Can't Be Then, that's a day after my birthday.
i woldnt of had time to play on my new hoverboard, or any other wacky invention around in 2012.
