PS3 Exclusive

(...)Getting a bit specific on the Versus project, Nomura continued, "It seems that the Versus team was, from the start, trying to get the full specifications out of the PS3, and that takes time. Just the other day, during a Versus meeting, a programmer asked, 'Is it okay to program with PS3 exclusivity in mind?'." I asked why, and he said, 'If we port it to other hardware, we have to program with that in mind.' I responded, 'Of course, Versus is PS3 exclusive.'"

While Nomura admitted that Versus will still take a bit more time, he let slip a big hint on the final shape of the game: Versus may have airships and a world map.

Airships and world map? It would be quite refreshing to see that done again, especially if it's done right.

Sweet! Having the airships and world map making a comeback in the next instalments will be quite exciting for us fans. I think this is a bit more of an indication that XIII and Versus will bring back the magic that, I thought, XII lacked. Also, with the inclusion of Shiva and her twin (along with, possibly, other summons) being able to transform into vehicles, the world map exploration is probably going to get more attention. I can't actually picture what the whole thing would look like mind. I don't know why, but I can't get a clear picture in my head of how the world map will look with the new hardware. Scale and scope will definately be increased, and perhaps the actual scale of the cities and towns will be far more realistic than the other (characters bigger than locale) games; with your airship swooping by great metropolises and large buildings that actually tower over you when you exit the airship...

These games are gonna be pure epicness.

Here's hoping for some trailers this December. I remember, back during the early part of this year, that Nomura said that he'll release some actualy in-game footage of Versus this year. It hasen't come yet so perhaps he'll unveil some footage to us at the Jump Festa event.
