Online release dates

This probably isn't news to anybody but I've always found Amazon quite interesting for release dates, they often leak the real ones out way before official announcement. I remember they had XII spot on for about 8 months beforehand. Even when they're wrong they're often not too far off so...

I dunno, I'm not trying to spark useless conversation on how unreliable these sources are it's just interesting to see what their estimates are. We've all heard Wada imply that it could be finished before the end of 2008 but imho that's highly unlikely

Damn, I can't wait for this game, anyways I really don't care any more about the releasing date these days since most of them aren't real, but this image is great, thanks for letting us know.

Wow, the contrast between the games is shown really well in that picture.

And yeah, I think Amazon's date is somewhere in the ballpark.

Gamestop has them available for pre-order, and they are both listed as coming out in Dec '08.

That scan is so interesting! The games look really good, I can't wait for them!

And about the release dates, they both seem quite random, and I doubt the Play.com date is correct, seems far too early, but it's just a guestimate. I think the amazon date is more likely to be accurate, simply because of the extra months.

I wouldn't trust those dates. I've read somewhere that Square Enix won't release FFXIII until 2009, and that's Japan. We won't see FFXIII be released in the US for another 6-8 months, and for UK another 5 months or so. We probably might not see FFXIII until the end of 2009 or 2010.

North America and Japan will undoubtedly have it by 2009, long before 2010... but the way some games get released in Europe and what not, it may, in fact, be 2010 before it gets released there. I would still expect an E3 announcement for the date, and I would reckon it will end up being released this upcoming Winter (whether it be late '08 or early '09).

Threads like this pop up for any new game on the horizon. We've all basically accepted that the 'release dates' are just estimates from those suppliers, likely based on dates when they receive shipments.
