Main characters

Ever since FFIX the main/ lead character has gotten less ... manly to say the least. Zidane, Tidus and Vann.

Who (other than me of course) feels that SE might actually do something right by the main character this time round? Sure enough Lightning is said to be similar to Cloud but I can honestly say I don't care about that. At least she will be a strong character.

I've kindof hoped for a character like Squall, Cloud or even Cecil. A leader type. Not just these wussy fools. Come on who can honestly say that FF hasn't been lacking a truely great main character since FFVIII. (maybe excluding Zidane he was all right.)

Versus looks all dark - hence I hope the main character is even darker, who would bot love to play an evil type character?

Lightning - a cloud remake? Ya point .... Lightning does come from the clouds above us in storms. Hence I do not care about her being a 'remake'.

All the characters have been good up to XII. Tidus had the emotional background and personality where Vaan...well...he had nothing to be honest, no background, no emotion, no personality. All being said, is Cloud great or is due to the fact he is highly overused? Same could be said about Lightning, whose to say she won't appear in the majority of the game in XIII for the next 10 years.

I resent the characters in Final Fantasy XII...especially Vaan.

Up to Final Fantasy XII, I loved the casts in the games. I hated Tidus, but at least he was interesting. The characters on FFXII are downright bland.

So yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing a better set of characters with some of these upcoming Final Fantasy games. The character depicted in the Final Fantasy XIII Versus trailers seems to be awesome.

yeah the characters in XII sucked, but the rest were good.

but i think its bad for SE to recycle characters by giving them new names and changing their gender.
we have already had FFVII so we dont need another cloud.
btw lightning doesnt come from clouds

lol .. lightning comes from clouds .. lol, good one ... but yeah, we need uniqueness in the characters, not a regurgitated character from 2 platforms ago ... but hopefully these next ffs' will change that, transition from light to dark is a good thing i think, get to play both sides of the field for a change, instead of the same plot .. save the world from pure evil .... y not be evil, fight evil with evil ...

And ye, i agree the characters have got somewhat... Well!
Well, i suppose XIII should have more manly main characters? Mr. 33cm from the trailer looked manly enough..? (However, we still can't assume he's the main character yet..)
