| Final Fantasy XII Presumably the last "main" game to be released on the PS2, FF12 broke the tradition of Battle Screens. It was also the sixth game ever to receive a perfect 40/40 score from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. |

XII Speech
So, does anyone else agree that the Speech and Talk in XII was done rather well? I loved how they talked. Anyone else agree?

I meant everyone's talk in general.
Balthiers was the best. I also loved Fran's voice.
Basch's voice was very patriotic. xD.

lol, no i don't think a german accent would fit him... he was fine as he is..
i did like Vaan and Penelo's voiceacting... since they were american, it just feels better for an international game(like my version of FFXII)
but i think the british accent was a neccesity because Basch and Ashe are like... from Royal thing, as in Basch used to be a high ranked soldier and Ashe a princess
and Balthier was supposed to be the charismatic character, and a heavy british accent really fits such a character...
i didn't like the Viera speech that much, it was as if it was somebody who couldn't pronounce decent english(all Viera had this not just Fran)

I loved the speech styling, and how well every voice actor pulled it off. It kind of makes the Star Wars prequels look even worse, considering the heavy use of "cannot" rather than "can't," etc. and how it all sounded so stiff. In FFXII, even though it was used to a greater extent (i.e. using virtually extinct words like "overmuch" and so on) and it all sounded so natural. Fran's was the highlight for me, however.

Yes! The words they used really helped out the feel of the game. It was great.

I was quite fond of the speech quality in this game. Even the NPC's had good voice acting, which is typically unexpected. Balthier and Fran in particular stood out as my personal favourites, because:
A) Balthier is awesomely British, and
B) Fran sort of sounds Russian. I looooooove the Russian accent.
