I dunno what everyone's problem is with Vaan's nose, I don't see anything wrong with it 
And I have to agree, Reddas looks like he has just come out of a gay club.

This is the first Final fantasy where all the characters are not good looking, just look at the cast of the previous games and you'll know what I mean.
Vaan: He was too ugly to look at, specially with that thing he's wearing and the lame ''show my abs'' pose.
Penelo: Again, I thought that for a ff girl, she was really ugly and her costume reminded me of a garbage man.
Balthier: Very good design, clothes are normal, something you'd see in medieval/ renaissance Europe. But, thought its not part of the character design, his voice reminded me of Snape from Harry Potter.
Fran: I loved her design. Very amazon. But it contradicts the vierra belief. For wood dwellers, they sure wore alot of leather, they could have made it themselves, but they live in trees.
Ashe: I liked her desgin other than that horrid belt and her greasy, messy hair (like that woman from cold case)
Basch: For a warrior, he was very revealing, why would you have your mid section open? He looked drunk.
Larsa: Very regal. but he she looking.
Vayne: Looked very evil.
Reddas: I thought he was Ashe's grandfather or someone from ''I now pronounce you chuck and larry''

Balthier Looked like Han Solo from the Renaissance.
Actually all the characters looked like the designers hit them with a bland stick.
I mean the least generic of the lot was Fran, and thats only because she had bunny ears, which is no praise at all.
And i have to agree that Vaan's six pack and chest doesn't look remotely human.

Hahaha yeah Vaan's chest is totally messed up it's like his rib cage is showing but then there's this weird ass six pack he's workin too. I thought all the characters were modeled good. Penelo and Ashe could have used some improvements though for the most part. Nothing more needs to be said on this topic.

Its the noses  Everyone seems to have the same up-turned nose for some reason. Also I found Vaans character model left the most to be desired. |

Seems there was trouble with the characters everywhere, I think that maybe they tried to make them look a bit too real or something along those lines. I'm not even sure but they look very odd o.O;;
The graphic cut scenes did look very real so that's why I'm thinking they tried to make the characters look as real as possible.
But for the way the characters look them selves...
The only two that I really had an issue with were Vaan and Penelo
Vaan had that weird chest looking thing on him. And the vest thing kinda reminded me something they pulled out of Aladdin or something. Then again he was a poor child, I suppose he didn't have enough Gil to find him self good clothing or somehting.
Penelo has two things that I think ruined her the most. Her outfit...what is that she's wearing really? And those short bangs. She had a pretty face and such but those short bangs just let out too much forehead imo.

I think the characters look too realistic and too delibratly european/caucasion looking. I noticed the environments and worlds in this game look gorgeous but the character designs dont. Especially Vaan. Also everyone looks too similair. Im also not loving the voice acting or dialogue in the english version

Yeah that annoyed me alot, Vaan had like a surfer look to him and Penelo was some sort of beach bunny lol. I liked how Balthier and Ashe looked, they looked more normal to me then the rest of them. |

I dont like the English voicing, because they just dubbed it over the jap mouthing, the characters do all look the same. even vann looks like, cloud, tidus, to name a few...
