Rasler, Vaan, and Ashe

What's the link between them?
Each of the characters are intermingled in their own way, but Vaan, Rossler, and Ashe seemingly have a special connection in regards to the nethicite.

Why is it that Vaan and Ashe can both see Rossler's apparition?
Why does Ashe mistake Vaan for Rossler in the land of the Garrif?

I think Vaan can see him because he i troubled by his brother dying and that he can't accept it. Ashe can him because she is his husband and she is the one that could either destroy the necthicite or use it.
But when they get to the stillshrine of miram Vaan accepts that his brother is dead so he can no longer see him although Ashe can still see him because her mind is not made up about whether to destroy it or not

Who is Rossler? Is that a cross between Rasler and Vossler?

Zidane, try contributing something worthwhile next time.

We're told that Vaan "thought" he saw his brother, where Ashe saw Rasler. We know that Rasler's apparition was created by the Occuria to lead Ashe, but the Occuria seem to have no motive to create someone for Vaan to see in his place. Possibly just Vaan wishing it were. As for why he can see it... I don't know whether that was explained or not.

Maybe I should pay attention to the game next I play it.

I'm not sure that there was a special connection between Vaan and the other two, only a lucky random chance encounter between a Street Urchin and a Princess.

From what I remember of it, I don't think Vaan or Rossler had any special connection to the Nethicite. Ashe's special connection was through the Occuria manipulating her with the power of Nethicite and constantly seeing her dead husbands apparition leading her down the wrong path. The Occuria have always controlled the kings and leaders of Ivalace through the power of the Neticite with mankind's inherit greed for power, so if they weren't happy with the current political structure they would in-sue war between the nations and make sure that the nation or kingdom they wanted in power would win. Again, in this case, through the use of the Nethicite and manipulating Ashe through an apparition of Rossler.

Actually, it's only in the beginning that Vaan sees Rossler apparition. I'm almost sure that this was part of the Occuria's manipulation as well, if Vaan can see him, then there would be no doubt in Ashe's mind that she is seeing the apparition of her husband and she would be more likely to follow the path he's setting her on in the game.

Again, In my opinion, it was to help aid in the whole Occuria manipulation explained above, remember the conversation between Ashe and Vaan on the bridge that night after she saw Rossler's apparition.

Vaan:
You saw him, didn’t you. Like at the King’s Tomb.

Ashe:
So you DID see him, too. But why?

Again, with Vaan also being able to see Rossler in the beginning, I think Ashe more likely to believe that it truly is her husband and that she's not going crazy. Lol...
