| Final Fantasy XII Presumably the last "main" game to be released on the PS2, FF12 broke the tradition of Battle Screens. It was also the sixth game ever to receive a perfect 40/40 score from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. |

After the Pharos is the 'end-game' so to speak, just think of it as XII's final dungeon because the Sky Fortress Bahamut (which is the last area of the game and opens up after you finish the Pharos) is incredibly short and not worthy of the title of 'Final Dungeon'. So story-wise it does get more exciting, you've come this far it's time to finish!

I hate the Pharos..... but yeah, once you actually hit the top, the story does suddenly get interesting. Just a shame it's so close to the end. Its like someone actually woke up and decided to actually inject a plot into it >>

LOL! I feel exactly the sameee. haha. It's like they just suddenly go "Omg, let's start making it interesting." Pshhh. =).
But, after you hit the top of the Pharos (which takes forever), Bahamut is the final place to go. It's not worthy really. It's short and mehhh. No save points within there either. It's a straight shot. haha.

I was dreading the Bahamut after doing the Pharos I thought 'Oh great, here we go, another pointlessly long dungeon......'
5 minutes later Im completing the game >_> I know I didnt want another humongous dungeon but bloody hell...
It was like the half an hour story of doom

Lmao. I wanted the Bahamut to last longer and be able to leave and return too when wanted. It would've been better.
Honestly, I say that the story line should've been longer. lol. It just felt short...

More hunts become available once you've completed the Pharos and shops all over Ivalice broaden their range. The end of the Pharos is ludicrously gripping, you'll definitely enjoy it if you're a sap for a good plot with an interesting climax.
After the Pharos, you'll find that the Sky Fortress Bahamut becomes accessible, which isn't actually a dungeon at all, it's just a string of cutscenes and bosses. You can literally reach the first of four bosses a minute or so once you've entered the Sky Fortress.
To answer your question directly, the plot thickens.

I agree totally, the plot is good all the way through in my opinion but it does get better after the Pharos.
Before I entered Sky Fortress Bahamut, I went and did most of the sidequests that I hadn't already done, Bought some weapons that weren't available before and hunted some marks! If you want my opinion, explore Ivalice a bit before finishing the game

Bahamut can be nasty too, especially if you let yourself get ganged up on. Even with bubble belts, I got battered about a fair bit.

Aye, that's a good point. The Imperials and their beasts infinitely spawn and so I'd advise you to flee into the next area [an elevator at one end of a tower] and prepare for bosses there. There are no save points on Bahamut, so make sure you're well buffed.
