| Final Fantasy XII Presumably the last "main" game to be released on the PS2, FF12 broke the tradition of Battle Screens. It was also the sixth game ever to receive a perfect 40/40 score from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. |

I prefer fighting the eldar wyrm
It all depends on your abilities and items and how quickly you heal the negative status effects

I've heard that he's just as hard as Tiamat... however, I found this one much tougher. Sporefall took me a good while to recover from each time he used it.
With Tiamat, on the other hand, I mist-chained him but didn't do much damage. I still managed to win with little or no MP.

Tiamat is only hard because the bosses from then on become alot harder and the usual gambit technique that the player has been using has to be changed slightly.
Since tiamat only does physical attacks he is easy whereas eldar wyrm has a range of attack like physical ones, fireball and status effects.

Elder wyrm is hard if you dont have (enough) handkerchiefs, if you do he's fairly easy and will fall to Aero in no time.

I couldn't bear fighting him on 2 tries so I owned him in 1 fight. xD
That was 30 minutes after beating Tiamat in the Henne Mines too.
Also, yeah, that spore fall thing was, if it's even possible, worse than Cloying Breath and Bad Breath by those Marlboros.
But either way, I just summoned Belias, let him take off tons of HP from Elder Wyrm, and just kept on attacking. I think all my characters were leveled 23 on that try. It took a while but I beat him in the end. Tough, but achievable.

I thought the trees collapsed on the entire glade and you couldn't get out.
Or maybe that's a different version of the game.
In either case, there's no way I could leg it through the Feywood since it's all the way back behind me, what with the road being blocked by those Hellhounds, and all that other jazz, and from what I've seen of the Feywood, they have tough monsters. o,_,o

I as well didn't know there was an optional path and Elder Wyrm kept kicking my ass royally for a few days. I just leveled up in the Jungle for a while and got all my Mist Knack levels up and went into battle to kick ass. The Status Effect attack was a bitch to deal with, but after i got him down low, I used my Quickening and buried him.
