I think the mini-map was amazing. I always used it and when the mini-map was screwed the big map still worked. I liked the map system. The battle system didn't suck, the storyline was ok, and the game absolutely was not a PoS.

I didn't have any trouble with the Minimap .... not that I actually used it that much.
I used the larger map to plan where I was going and only used the mini to stay on course

It was helpful and easy once you got used to it. Sometimes when the environment would kinda give me a headache, I 'd just watch the minimap. When the area is so richly rendered, I guess it's necessity.

It was generally very well done, but there were times where I had to look twice to figure stuff out! I generally liked the way they did the maps though. XII IS my favourite FF for gameplay.
