| Final Fantasy XII Presumably the last "main" game to be released on the PS2, FF12 broke the tradition of Battle Screens. It was also the sixth game ever to receive a perfect 40/40 score from the Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu. |

I liked the Feywood and Nabreus Deadlands. I liked how they had an almost primitive look to them because of all of the mist.
As far as cities go, I liked Bhujerba the best. It just looked really cool. I was very underwhelmed by Archades. I expected more from a so-called great empire.

Really? I wasn't that impressed with it. I just expected more. Maybe it was all the buildup and anticipation on the way there because it took FOREVER to get there.

I thought it was decent enough. It seemed huge to me. Rabanastre was big as well though.
I thought the Pharos was nice but I absolutley hated the 100 level thing. How annoying.

Of all the places, I loved the mines the most… Henne Mines, Lhusu Mines and The Barheim Passage.
Other places would be… The Skycity of Bhujerba, The Feywood, Giruvegan, The Great Crystal, Golmore Jungle & The Salikawoods.

Yes, the Salikawood was my favorite area also. I loved the feel of being on wooden platforms/plant tendrils above a lake. The Paramina rift was also pretty awesome. The Pharos? I wanted out of that place the minute I stepped in.

The Barheim Passage is stunning. When i was in Special Op Sector 5 going after that mimic to get the Deathbringer, i happened to look out across the cliff...and there was that gigantic road with spires and little building all along it, it reminded me of London and the End of Time in Chrono Trigger. After i stole 3 Deathbringers i actually ventured up to that area (sector 7, i think it was) and it was gorgeous...although the undeads soon made me regret the venture.
Other favorite locals (based solely on appearance) include:
Golmore Jungle
Eryut Village
The Feywood
Bur-Omisace
Giruvegan (only the outside, once you're past Daedelus it turns dull)
Cerobi Steppes
Bhujerba

I really liked the Giza Plains because of it's two sides. I really like blooming deserts and that's what it reminded me of - I started off seeing it as dry and dead, but then I got to see the rainy season and it was teeming with life.
The Phon Coast also really struck me. It was the only one of the game that actually kinda made me smile when I got my first look at it. Beautiful in a very generic way, but it made me feel like home. I also really liked the bounty hunter community there.
Mentioning scruffy communities, I really liked Balfonheim and the Cerobi Steppes. I liked the piratey people of the seaport and when I left and saw Cerobi Steppes, I was actually shocked - I don't know what I was expecting, but definitely not something that embodied the season of fall. I loved the colors of the Cerobi Steppes.
In general, I didn't feel very connected to any of the places, though, which really lessened by experience, whereas with the other FFs I could connotate the different areas with certain emotions.

As far as areas go, I also liked the Mosphoran Highwaste. It had a fantastic mountainous feel and one of my favorite musical themes from the game. The Empyreal Seat (The highest point in the zone, I forget what it's named) had a remarkable view.

I'd have to say I love the Tchita Plains the most but then again, I'm only about halfway through the game. I like how you can see the ancient ruins (heck, who am I kidding? practically ever place has ruins), and it's also such a great training spot.
But aesthetically, I'd have to go with Feywood, Salikawood, and Golmore Jungle. Yes, I like leafy places, and I've been saying ever since FFX that they need to put more jungles into the series. Well, I got my wish.
