Wow.... im a noob....... a late noob
Well Im going to start to play FFXI i havent played a FF game since FF10( I kinda drifted into war games.... ) So i actually dont know what to expect from this FFXI. Ive read about it and researched the basics. But I really want to get a players point of view. Also. ( this might sound pathetic) but i'm also looking for some friends on here that can mentor me thru the game. i dont know what server to choose? Will i get to play with ppl that got the expansion pack if all i have is the original. Should i get all the expansion pack at once and start like that? SO CONFUSED.
So if u guys can give me some info on the game and what servers to look into il super appreciate it.

kewl thanx but im a lil confused i have a slim ps2 and i heard i need to get a 10gb hard drive is that true? can i use a usb harddrive?

In order to play it online with the PS2 you will need the PS2 HDD. Also I'm not sure whether the FF11 online service is available on PS2 anymore, especially with the advent of the 360 release.

o so my best bet is to get the pc version... but i heard rumors that it won't work if you have WINDOWS VISTA. on the game and the first 3 expansion packs. is that true?

you can still play FFXI on PS2(I do daily, and have for years). PS2 players still make up a large number of the players, 360 users being a very small percentage.

But in order to do that you would need an older model PS2 not the slim, so PC is the best bet.

Ahh thanks for that I wasn't sure it was since most PS2 online games seem to of bitten the dust. Also I'm sure the expansion packs are all available seperately for the PS2.

Also I'm just wondering does the PS2 version have the subscription service in order to play, like the PC version does?

all 3 versions share the same servers, same fees and you can get every expansion no matter what system you choose to play on.
