It's more than obvious that Yuna and Tidus were meant to be together, not Tidus and Rikku. Their personalities clash too much. Tidus is more the outspoken type and Yuna is calm and reserved type. They match better. Besides that, Tidus sacrificed himself so Yuna wouldn't die. If that's not love then I don't know what is.

Rikku was defenetly Tidus's tipe but Yuna was too pure and she completely changed Tidus. If there was no Yuna I think that Rikku could go out with him. But she's there so there's not much SE can do (unless she dies )

I don't think Tidus deserves to be with anyone. Nor do I believe Yuna deserves to be with anyone. Aww.

He did not. He and Rikku tried thinking of ways to avert the final summoning, but failed, and they went to see Yunalesca with the group. When Yuna refused to allow someone else to die, Yunalesca attacked, and was killed, so Yuna couldn't die at all due to the Final Summoning.
Tidus had no choice in the matter: if he hadn't been there when the team killed Yu Yevon, he'd had vanished anyway.
