Yeah, I don't blame you for being confused about it. I don't know how they do it either and it does seem quite unrealistic. Maybe they use some sort of magic spell before they go out into the water!  Perhaps they do have gills as well but I don't think I could see any. They might have iron lungs so they can't run out of breath lol. I don't know! It's a mystery, and a good topic as well.
