But it also makes you use less weapons. I like the weapons being based off their own stats.

Saved alot of money that way, too.

I thought the weapon system was amazing. I loved being able to modify stats with it, plus you had other great things like adding status effects, the WONDERFUL ability "first strike", adding elements to your weapon, etc. It was a great way to put to use all those stupid items i never used in battle (and i never used Rikku's alchemy either).

And then of course you could use items for armours too, so you could defend against statuses and elements and whatnot. It was a very ingenious idea, as far as i'm concerned.

It would be cool if you could create your own weapon designs. First strike was handy but it couldn't be used in FF12.

That would be pretty cool, but it would take alot more memory and frankly, i don't think SE's up for that. Then again they might be, since they've taken a shine to gimmicky crap.

Oh and i also liked how on the swords/blitzballs would actually be enveloped in their respective element, like a sword with fire would be on fire, a blitzball would have lightning coursing around it, etc. With XII's exquisite attention to detail, it surprises me they didn't do that to the weapons in that game.

Oh, that's a good idea, Venge.

I was wondering that myself. Why didn't they have the element around the certain weapon? It would've been a nice feature to have, ya know? =/.

Oh, and to answers someone's question, they did have a blacksmith, it was Rikku. She can fix and create alot of things.

i suppose if i had noticed this earlier, it might have bothered me. but as far as the weapons changing with new abilities, it didnt really catch my attention. i liked the way weapons could be customized.

the only thing i didn't like is how the best abilities seemed almost impossible to get because you needed to find huge amounts of incredibly rare items. it was tough, but worth the time.

I never payed much attention to a weapon's form changing depending on it's abilities. The only thing i noticed was that Tidus' Brotherhood looks eactly like Excalibur. It annoys me that the only unique weapons in FFX are the celestials though.

There were a few rare items but alot of them could be found in the Arena. Mhm. That is where I had gotten my stuff from. !

Anywho, I loved the customization. It was a big plus, I wish it were put in more games.
