So who actually listened to Maechen?
Maechen was practically EVERWHERE and always had LOTS to say(yes I know why this is.) On first playthrough the inclination to walk on by or tell him you don't want to listen is powerful but he had some important stuff to say (sometimes, anyway.) The relationship between Yunalesca and Yu Yevon, for example, was a shocker I was glad to get out of him. So who heard him out and what was the most striking bit of information you got out of him?

I flet that listening to him once was enough and I never even looked at him again unless I felt some kind of nostalgia to explore every aspect of Spira, despite already knowing what he has to say.
I generally feel that I don't need to be reminded of optional aspects of the game, particularly when I believe that I know the ins-and-outs rather well.

I listened to his ramblings. I found them quite interesting to be honest. And that scholar voice of his made the few three of four stories very interesting. Though he's quite the weirdo: he's everywhere. WTF? Is he faster than Yuna and her Guardians? Anyway....

I listened to him the first play through of course, but after that I try to avoid him, if possible.
But he was horrible in FFX-2

My only problem with him really was he spoke too slowly and that irritated the hell out of me, I should just mute him really.....

Yeah, I listened to him. He did have good info, some of it I would've never guessed normally. However, I didn't start talking to him until my second playthrough.

I gave the old guy a chance as well. It was a good time to marvel at the guys hat, an amazing sight to see that rivaled the natural scenery of Spira.

I listened to him everytime during my first playthrough, but didn't really remember all of it at first. Actually, a lot of the time on the first time through, I didn't pick up on a lot of the references he made.
The second time though, I paid more attention and even went back and listened a second time to his stories just to make sure I was understanding him fully.

Oh god yeah I remember him. For an old, he is stupidly fast!
At first I used to avoid him, cause I couldn't stand his slow talking and ramblings, but as the game progressed I actually ended up enjoying his little bits of info.
