Yup I actually listened to what he said, although I found half the time he was rambling, so I always accidentally listened to what he had to say, rather than declining. xD It was quite annoying; does he ever shut up?

Not really, he only shuts it when he's done and you walk away from him
But in other cases I did listen to him, I actually wanted to hear what he had to say, I found it actually interesting but then again I like to listen to stories and all that.

Having grown up reading Latin, I found him delightful.
I listened to every last Maechen speech, and still do on subsequent play-throughs. Yes, I'm sick.
For one thing, it utterly made my day when I discovered he was voiced by Dwight Schultz (so is O'aka), who played Lt. Barkley/Broccoli on Star Trek: TNG, Amos on Babylon 5, and Mad Dog (I think?) on A-Team. Never watched A-Team, but his other roles proved there are no small parts, if you don't treat them that way!
