I think FFX had some of the hardest side quests. I never did that butterfly sidequest. The chocobo sidequest was a pain in the arse but I eventually did it after spending days trying and for the dark aeons I think I spent weeks beating all of them. I still havent beat penance.

The side quest in FFX were great, there were so many and they were so diverse in style.
I didn't find the chocobo racing to difficult, It took me a couple of attempts but I guess I got lucky. The most anoying quest was either dodging the lightning bolts on Thunder Plain, mainly because of the time requierd to complete it. Or Penance as unless you use Zamato it took hours as well.
Blitzball I found to be a fun side game, more then a major quest. It was nice to be able to take a break from killing monsters to indulge in a little sport.

Ugh, I tell you Dodging the thunderbolts were quite annoying. It was like..."WTF! OMG! I cannot DO THIS SHIT!" and then you throw your controller down and storm off. =/.
That was the most annoying for me. Oh, and capturing the different variety of fiends were a tad frustrating as well.

Hah yup, that was exactly it with me too My ex boyfriend told me to not get so wound up & to stop stressing out - The control pad very nearly got inserted where the sun don't shine
But when HE tried dodging the lightning, it was a different story. Iv never wanted to punch someone so much as I did with that....

Some were ok, some were pure horrid. Blitzball was naff, the Lightning Bolt thing was irritating and the Chocobo race to get Tidus Sigil was just.......there is no word for what it was....all in all its definitely a low point in the game overall.

Blitzball was pretty decent although it did get dull when your team like Arsenal and the others were like Cowdenbeath in comparison.
The minigames in FFX were complete shit, they were not fun in the slightest which is the point of them in the first place. They're meant to be fun distractions from the main game, they aren't meant to feel like chores.

The Chocobo racing was so tedious! Ughhh! I was getting really frustrated with that as well.
I loved Blitzball. Fun game. I played even after I got all the legendary weapons and beat the game.

I enjoyed blitzball, even though it got way too easy when my stats ran ahead of any other team. There was only one team that beat me on occasion: the Psyches.
The chocobo racing was alright, but I hated the butterflies. And I'm not even touching the lightning quest.

The tasks set for some of the Sigils were ridiculous, whoever came up with them deserves to be shot. Getting up to about 130 dodges and then get struck was really hard to take, it would've been madness had that occurred in the 190s.
Fights with Dark Aeons were devoid of challenge after building the character's stats up and getting Auto-Phoenix. There wasn't any real strategy you had to confront them with other than Quick Hit/Dodge With Aeon. In the end, the time spent doing it felt like a waste.
Blitzball was fun while it lasted just like all FF minigames.

haha Some of the side-quests and mini-games were very very frustrating, but one's I just HAD to finish. I would not power off the console once I had started one of these until I had completed the side-quest I was working on.
Probably the most nose-grinding mini-game of them all for me was the Butterfly Catcher one because of how careful you had to be when avoiding the red butterflies. I had the maps printed out fully so I knew the route I had to take to get the Saturn Sigil, but it took forever for me to finally navigate all the way through the forest on my way to the treasure chest.
