I didn't agree with him going away. Basically, I'm not a fan of sad endings. I almost cried in the ending too. xD It was a very great ending though.

I'm agreeing with Mitsuki's point on this one. Tidus was a great character in my opinion no matter how far he strayed from the norm of a main character that we were used to previously.

Tidus full-filled his duty far better than anyone in the game character-wise expected and he took his destiny with his head lifted high in the air and accepting it. He went out on a high note.

Despite being clued in as to how the game would end. I was blown off guard when I saw it. It was stunningly beautiful. As a grown man who's played FF's for the past 16 years, no other game's ending has moved me as much as this one did. I loved the game's storyline so the ending made it that much grander to me. It was sad seeing so many characters (aeons, fayth, auron, tidus) just dissappear. I'm a pretty serious guy but that ending made me choke up inside. It was also sad because I knew this was the end of FFX. Nothing beyond...

Once again, best FF ending ever IMO.

Yes, this ending was perfect. Tidus leaving, Yuna falling over, evrybody crying, don't get me wrong, Im not trying to be horrible, all this just adds to the dramatic effect, making this great ending even better.

Then, the scene with Yuna whistling, mad the ending even more sadder. But the speech Yuna made perfectly wrapped it all up.

IMO, 10/10

but came along FF10-2

i lol'd

i thought it had a good ending. the part where yuna runs right through him waz so sad. and when she says she loved him i just burst into tears. it waz a good ending to the game tho, because the game had a sadder theme than most of the other ff. the only thing i wish they had added in waz tidus explaining to everyone why he left. other than that it waz...

9/10!

I thought the ending was pretty good, you think Yuna will die at the end of the game, but then it twists it completely by killing Tidus.

It's perfectly sad too, and doesn't fall under a "Cliche" ending.

As long as you ignore X2 that is.

I was very happy with the ending of X. It redeemed the game somewhat for me. I just wish that there was more development with Tidus and Yuna's relationship. I think we needed to see more from Yuna in regards to her feelings to Tidus to make the ending truly emotional.

And X-2 needs to just fade out of existence.

Maybe if they didn't make Yuna and Rikku such dumasses and focused it more on Lenne and Shunyin and omit the good and perfect endings the game could have been pretty good.

I like FFX's ending more than the others. Tugging at my heart-strings lol. They did make it touching, Yuna, running through Tidus, etc.

I found the ending really shocking, it moved me in a way I've never had with a game, before or since. Yes we knew Tidus' fate, but because it was so vague I kinda didn't expect it to actually happen. I thought perhaps something inside of Sin, and his Father, might have caused him to carry on living. But then that twist came and he started to fade away, and the realisation that it was true and Tidus was going to disappear. That, coupled with the Ebm version of To Zanarkand in the background (Uematsu you steal my heart every time

), and it wouldn't matter how much of a toughnut I am, I just burst into tears. I couldn't hold it in. And with Yuna falling through him, saying "I love you", Tidus giving her that last hug and then accepting his fate with such pride. Yuna is left to rebuild Spira without the one she loves, and the whistling brought on a fresh burst of tears. The only thing that kinda spoiled the moment for me was seeing Rikku jumping up and down waving, what the hell? Tidus was going away forever, I don't think she really understood the gravitas of the situation.

But as shocking and sad as I found the ending, I was happy with the way it went. As it's been mentioned before, too many happy and anticlimatic endings, this was really refreshing, and the emotion it brought out is also testament to the fact that it was genius. Everything became so clear at that point.

Excellent ending, and again I agree with you all- then comes FFX-2 to spoil it. Stupid fools, they shouldn't have tampered with a masterpiece like that.
