I loved the sphere grid, I remember making Yuna and Auron into indestructible tanks, both able to kill any fiend with one blow. However this actually did not take away from the individuality of other characters, only much much later in the game did you have a chance to really create a hellish party.
So yeah if they bring back the sphere grid I would be very happy.

Nah, I had no problem with that. I really liked the Sphere Grid which is one of the better systems in the series. IMO. It felt like FFXII was trying to make some resemblence to it, but failed.
I liked that it was huge, and that you were able to chose a different path for everyone. It was also my first FF game I played, so I probably hold some kind of "special love" towards it.

to be honest i prefer the leveling mode isted of the sqhere grid, but i can see the logic in it, so you dont have to be a certain level to get a skill you need a certin stone, but i think this is where they got the idea for 12 with the licences

I fell in love with the Final Fantasy Sphere Grid system.
it was easier for me
and you could actually control what kind of charecters you were going for.
Leveling was great and all
but final fantasy x was a step up.

Yeah leveling always did give that clear feeling of acomplishment, that is kind of lacking on the sphere grid in the begining, what with the low bonus and the 1-2 levels that you sometimes get where you move but don t actualy get near a filled nod so you can activate it (Specialy in Auron's part of the grid, though he did get bigger bonuses in the nods he did get so it evens out in the end I think, just annoying in some parts :S ) but after awhile it starts to pickup speed and you can really feel the bonus coming in, all in I felt it was a rather more interesting system than simple leveling, much more potencial for customisation.

The sphere grid was defiantly unique, which I did like. I also liked how you could take your character in so many different directions, lot of variety and you could play the game over and over and come up with something different.
